Music Scholar Mentorships

The Gainesville Community Choir is excited to announce a new program geared toward the next generation of choral educators. The GCC Music Scholar Mentorship program will provide free individualized training, coaching, and leadership opportunities for two emerging music educators age 17-25 per season (fall and spring). Scholars will receive free tuition to sing with GCC and six free one-on-one lessons in voice, piano, and/or conducting. They will also be permitted to attend GCC leadership meetings, be involved in the process of lesson planning, and have regular contact with our directors and section leaders. Scholars may also be given the opportunity to direct warm-ups, teach mini-lessons on music literacy or vocal-choral technique, and give feedback to the choir at rehearsals.
